Moving to the United States four years ago was a big step for Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk sales consultant Albert Hajdaraj, and one he has never regretted. Albert is Albanian (his family is from Kosovo) but he was born in Sweden. He came here at age 21, through a program developed by Harvard, where European students could take an exam to be considered for a United States visa. The top 10 exam grades would receive visas and tour the US, and Albert earned the highest grade.
Albert had been looking for car for a year when he stopped by Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk. He ended up purchasing a car, and then applying for a position in sales. “I had such a good experience, I didn’t hesitate when they asked me to apply,” says Albert. Albert likes cars, and he enjoys working with people and helping to solve their problems. He works diligently to make sure he can deliver on every promise he makes to his customers.
In his spare time, Albert loves to read, especially stories of famous American entrepreneurs and visionaries like Steve Jobs and Dale Carnegie. He also loves sports, and basketball is his passion, having played college basketball in Europe. Albert lives with his girlfriend, Serena, a writer, and is grateful to have been warmly welcomed by his girlfriend’s family: “They have truly taken me in, and helped me in so many ways.”
Today, Albert views his adopted country with admiration. “America is the best place on earth,” he says, “It’s what you make it, if you’re willing to take chances, take initiative, and go after opportunities. It all depends on you.” We at Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk are proud to be part of Albert’s American dream.
