Having trouble setting up Bluetooth in your 2013-2014 Honda Accord?  My name is Honda Laura, and I’m here to help!  Watch my instructional video or follow the instructions below for simple setup.

iPhone:

1.  Go to settings in your phone.

2.  Go to the Bluetooth tab in your phone.

3.  Turn on Bluetooth in your phone.

4.  In your car, press the Phone button right next to the radio interface.

5.  The IMID (display screen) will display the phone screen. The car will say, “Would you like to pair a new phone?”

6.  Using the Select knob, scroll down to highlight “Yes” for a new phone.  Push the Select knob to enter “Yes.”

7.  Using the Select knob, click “OK” for discoverable mode.

8.  The car will say, “Preparing process requires authorization of Bluetooth phone. For proper system function, a compatible Bluetooth phone is required. Please visit the hands-free systems website listed in the Owner’s Manual for a list of approved phones and other system information.  From the displayed list, select the desired phone.”

9.  The car should display your name and iPhone. Using the Select knob, select the desired phone.

10.  The car will either say, “Compare the numbers displayed on your device and on the vehicle display. Then, follow the instructions on your device,” or “When requested by your phone, enter the pin ‘XXXX.’”

11.  Either compare the numbers or input the code, and then click “Pair” on your phone.

12.  The car will say, “Connection setup is complete. The phone has been added.”

13.  Automatic Phone Sync will come up next on the display screen.  Enter “On” using the Select knob.  Your call history and phonebook will connect to your car.  When your device leaves the car, the Bluetooth will disconnect, and when you come back, it will reconnect.  If you have multiple devices, it will ask you which one you would like to reconnect.

Android:

1.  In your car, press the Phone button right next to the radio interface.

2.  The IMID (display screen) will display the phone screen. The car will say, “Would you like to pair a new phone?”

3.  Using the Select knob, scroll down to highlight “Yes” for a new phone.  Push the Select knob to enter “Yes.”

4.  Go to settings in your phone.

5.  Go to wireless in your phone.

6.  Go to Bluetooth settings in your phone and select “Discoverable.”

7.  Using the Select knob, click “OK” for discoverable mode.

8.  Follow steps 8-12 in the iPhone setup procedure to add your device.

9.  Follow the same procedure as the iPhone for synchronizing your phone; however, when your phone asks you to allow access, make sure you click the box that says “Don’t ask again” at the bottom of your phone’s screen.  If you don’t, your phone will not synchronize the next time you enter your car.

Now you are connected!  With Bluetooth, you can set up voice tags for speed dial, look up call history, access your phonebook, and much more!
