Hi! Honda Laura here and today we’re comparing the 2019 Civic Sport to the 2019 Civic Si, both with manual transmission. Both of these vehicles are awesome inside and out! Don’t forget to check out the video over on our YouTube channel.
As always, a thank you goes out to Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk for lending us the vehicles for the video (check them out to schedule your test drive.)
Getting started with the exteriors, the 2019 Civic Sport debuts a new front-end trim, with a bit of re-sculpting and use of the “black-out concept” through the whole front end, from grill to headlights. It’s a really cool look!
On the other hand, the Civic Si stays true to the traditional chrome accents and front-end sculpting. It’s still a good look for a great vehicle.
I’m partial to the look of the Si, but it’s all about personal preference here at Honda Seekonk!
For the most part, the rest of the exterior features are similar, right down to the day-time running lights, smart key entry, and back-up camera. The Civic Sport continues the blacked-out look through the 18” sports concept wheels and rear deck lid spoiler that contrasts nicely with the selection of vehicle colors.
Both the Civic Si and the Sport trim feature a really cool center exhaust that lends well to the sound experience.
Under the Hood
Under the hood of the 2019 Honda Civic in the Sport trim level is a 2 liter four-cylinder Ivy Tech engine which produces 158 horsepower. It features the 6-speed manual transmission and gets 25 city/36 highway for a combined 29 miles per gallon (MPG).
Under the hood of the 2019 Honda Civic Si is a 1.5 liter, turbocharged direct fuel injection engine which produces 205 horsepower it has a six-speed manual transmission and it yields 28 city 38 highway and combined 32 miles per gallon (MPG).
So, obviously, the Si has a little bit more power and a little bit more fuel economy, but the Sport does have some features that the Si doesn’t – let’s talk about the interior!
Both vehicles feature leather wrapped steering, aluminum pedals, and red lighting to really kick up the sporty feel a few notches. The Si also features curve hugging seating and a sports mode that stiffens the suspension and gives you that fun ride we’ve come to expect from the Si.
The BIG difference between the 2019 Honda Civic Sport trim and the Civic Si?
Honda Sensing features include adaptive cruise control, road mitigation to keep you safely on the road, and collision mitigation breaking system to assist in the event of an incoming crash. If these features are must haves for you, then the Civic Sport is the way to go.
