Herb Chambers Honda Sponsors Teacher Leadership Summit

We love teachers. Giving teachers the tools they need to grow and develop, so that they can then grow and develop the next generations, is an opportunity we at Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk were proud to make happen. The Teacher Leadership Summit, put on by the Total Teacher Project, was a one-day conference at Bryant University held on on August 10th. The event brought in nationally recognized speakers and leadership experts to give teachers new tools to maximize their leadership potential both inside and outside the classroom. We were proud to sponsor this fantastic event!

The Total Teacher Project believes that “Teachers who grow as leaders today, inspire students to be the leaders of tomorrow.” This year’s summit featured:

  • Courtney Lynch: a best-selling author and consultant to Google and Facebook on leadership
  • Maddie Fennell: Teacher Leader in Residence, from the Department of Education
  • Dr. Megan Allen: 2010 Florida Teacher of the Year
  • Dr. Celine Coggins: a nationally recognized expert on education policy
  • …and more

Brian Salit of Seekonk, a sophomore at Bryant University who helped produce the teen Distracted Driving summit we have sponsored for the last three years, was part of the team that helped bring us together with the Total Teacher Project and make this training available to our local teachers. “We would not have been able to produce the Teacher Leadership Summit without the help and support of Brian and Herb Chambers of Seekonk,” exclaimed Kara Salit, the event organizer.

The full day seminar was packed with engaging sessions, interactive presentations, and discussions all designed to improve personal and professional communications, reaffirm each teacher’s passion for teaching, discover how key leaderships behaviors influence student performance, and remind teachers of the critical value they hold as leaders in today’s society.

At Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk, we have always been committed to supporting our local community. It was an honor to be a part of bringing this summit to the teachers in our southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island area.

We’d love to hear about the teachers that influenced you. Tell us about your favorite teacher and how they made you the leader and person you are today in the comments!
