3rd Annual Honda Food Drive Strikes Back at Hunger

By 0 Permalink 0

While many of us enjoy the bounty of the holidays, too many of our friends and neighbors struggle with food insecurity. As part of our commitment to improving and supporting our local community, Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk is proud to have joined other local area Honda dealers for the third year in a row with our annual Food & Fund Drive. And this year was another great success!

Local Honda dealers across the area collected non-perishable and canned food items, as well as monetary donations, to support the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. It was a team effort that involved our dealership employees, vendors, as well as our loyal customers.

The RI Food Bank’s mission is to provide innovative solutions to the problem of hunger. This includes utilizing its 167 member agencies across the state to distribute nearly 10 million pounds of food each year. The program serves almost 60,000 RI residents each month, tirelessly working to eradicate hunger in our community.

We are extremely proud to have collected 2,183 pounds of food with this year’s drive. That makes nearly three tons in three years! Our very own Honda Laura was on hand to deliver the donations to the Food Bank this week. Check out the video!

The staff at Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk is grateful for all of our blessings, and even more so, that the people we work with and serve through this company are committed to giving back to their community and taking care of each other. Thank you to everyone that donated and participated in the Food & Fund Drive. Because of you, many of our neighbors will not go hungry. Happy Holidays!
