2017 Teacher Leadership Summit: Reflect, Renew, Recharge

By 0 Permalink 0

Our commitment to being a proactive and positive influence within our community is a cornerstone of everything Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk does. Providing opportunities for growth and development to the teachers who shape and mold the next generations fits exactly into that mission. As such, we were thrilled to once again sponsor the Teacher Leadership Summit, hosted by the Total Teacher Project at Bryant University on August 14th.

This annual professional development seminar is designed to advance innovative education processes and ignite new passions for teaching and learning.

“Our primary sponsor, Herb Chambers of Seekonk, affords teachers the opportunity to reflect, recharge and renew their leadership qualities for students to model”, said Brian Salit, rising junior at Bryant University and head of Strategic Partnerships and Event Development for the Total Teacher Project.  “I am proud to be a member of the Total Teacher Project (TTP) team because we enable teachers to recognize themselves as the leaders that I see them as from a student’s perspective.  This event creates a lot of positive energy and momentum for teachers, as they gear up for a new school year.”

The year’s event included:

  • A DiSC profile: a personal assessment tool to better understand each individual’s leadership styles and preferences
  • Two interactive personal development break-out sessions
  • Keynote speaker Courtney Lynch: New York Times and USA Today best-selling author
  • Action planning session
  • Networking opportunities
  • Conference materials, continental breakfast, gourmet lunch and a book signing

It’s always an honor to work with organizations like the Total Teacher Project and Bryant University to provide opportunities that allow the teachers within our community to ignite their passions and take advantage of new techniques that will improve their classrooms and ultimately build up the students that will lead our future.
