Breakfast with Santa! Children’s Holiday Party at Herb Chambers Honda of Seekonk

By 0 Permalink 0

Every year, Herb Chambers Honda Seekonk hosts a holiday party for staff and family, and this year, I was so psyched because I, Honda Mama, was invited to go with my family! We got all gussied up and went to the Ramada Seekonk, and when we walked in, it looked like we had become miniaturized and happened onto a Rankin-Bass movie set. The walls were lined with inflatable holiday decorations (the huge ones that my kids are always begging us to put in our yard) and the place was bursting with holiday cheer and redolent with the smell of pancakes. WOOHOO!

After a breakfast which included some of the best bacon ever, the kids got to enjoy face-painting with Clowns n Stuff, as well as a caricature artist.

We also got to mingle with Elsa and Olaf, much to the adorably high-pitched delight of every little girl in the room under 10.

The DJ from M.C. Entertainment wore many hats (literally, but also figuratively) as he walked around greeting people, playing holiday music, and getting the crowd psyched up for the most important guest of all…SANTA!

Every child had a chance to sit with Santa (even the ones who were too cool for Santa) and all the children got a gift.

But the biggest gift of all, according to the Herb Chambers Honda Seekonk staff, is that this holiday tradition that allows them to enjoy time together outside work.

The Herb Chambers Honda Seekonk staff is like a family. Just ask sales consultant Domenica Helo, who brought her 3 kids and 2 grandkids to the event: “It’s so nice to see my family together with my work family!” Natalie Sena, who works in business development (and who also helped plan the party along with Katee, Sylvia, and Danielle) echoed that sentiment: “We spend a lot of time together at Herb Chambers, and if something happens to one of us, it affects all of us, because we care about one another. It’s truly like a family.”

Attending with his wife and two young children, Ken Alves didn’t have much time to chat–he was busy chasing his active little boy around! But even those who are relatively new to the organization felt the warm holiday welcome of the party. Tom Meier, who has been with the company since the summer as a Service Director, enjoyed the party with his wife and three daughters. “It’s a tremendous event, so nice to see all the kids having fun.”

Scott Birtles, Herb Chambers Honda Seekonk General Manager, took the time to thank everyone not only for coming together on a Sunday, but also for their “dedication and commitment all year long.” And yes, even our GM got to sit with Santa!

Being part of this Herb Chambers Honda Seekonk family tradition was an honor for my family, and we look forward to attending for years to come, as Malainne Costa has: “I’ve worked for this dealership for 20 years, and we always enjoyed the holiday party. I still reminisce about bringing my family, meeting co-workers’ families, and seeing how their kids have grown over the years. I remember some of those children as babies and now they’re in college, or starting their own families! They have become our extended family, and the holiday party is a celebration of that.”
